The prospects for global corn production are brighter in 2021/22, with bumper harvests expected in Argentina, China and the US. The USDA in its September WASDE expects world corn production to reach 1197.8mt from 1117.1mt. In 2020/21 Argentina, India and Russia showed gains. They are leading global trade this year. Since the August WASDE report, major export bids have declined. In Brazil and Argentina, weather woes are bringing down bids whilst in Ukraine prices are softening. US prices have dropped due to weak foreign demand.
